100 Words

by JM

9085286.jpgHello and welcome to the late Thursday edition of 100 Words, idea brought to you by the lovely Velvet Verbosity.

I hope you will forgive my being late. I had a job interview – gasp! I know. – yesterday and things have not settled down since. Even so, here I am, inspired by the one word prompt from VV and ready to pull out my 100 Words.

I hope you enjoy this edition and participate as well. If you do, be sure to leave me a link to your post in the comments section so I know where to find you.

Now, on to the 100 Words inspired by… Distraction

I came here to… Man. I really don’t want to. I mean, there is no reason not to, but I’d just rather…

Crap. Did I take… Yeah. I can see it from here. On the couch. Hm. Maybe that’s the problem. I should be at…

What was that noise? I could have sworn it was… Yeah, maybe not. I always did have an active imagination. Maybe that’s why I collect all those funky…

Ew. Dust. I definitely – Oh! I haven’t put away the laundry. Man! I should have done that…

Why am…

Oh, yeah. I have a book to write.

Another fun 100 words. I really do like doing this. (I get the feeling I have said that before…) I encourage you to take part as much as you can. It’s good for you to exercise your mind and let it have a bit of freedom to play. Especially before you get into your other writing.

I hope you all have a lovely Thursday.

    I think that’s called “Monkey Mind” ;)

    Cheers!

  2. the Wandering Author Says:

I put up two entries in one post. One is a story, the other, well, I had an idea similar to yours, but with my own twist. Be sure to check the links on the second one, or you won’t understand why I chose to refer to a science fiction story.

This is fun. :-D Thanks for pointing it out! I love seeing what each person comes up with, and how they treat it. The results certainly prove that it isn’t the idea, but your original take on it, that really makes a story.

  3. Secret Agent Mama Says:

Oh my, do I resemble this from time-to-time!
    :)

  4. Penelope Anne Says:

I am even later than you and I haven’t got an excuse….oh yeah maybe I have just been distracted???? LOL

Soon, I will have one written before Tuesday.

  5. JM Says:

VV - Something lie that. ;)

WA - Thanks for the link. :) I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself.

SAM - Hehe. I do way too much.

Penelope - We all have those times in our lives, unfortunately. :)
