Ambiguously Big Words

by

big-word-game.jpgAmbiguously big words is a new word game I want to get started on Fiction Scribe.

It’s easy. Every Wednesday, I’ll post up a word you (hopefully) don’t know the meaning of. Your part is to take either a serious or silly guess at what the word means. If you already know what it means, please don’t spoil it for anyone. You can still play, though.

I’ll post up the real definition on Thursday.

Thanks to Elisa for this great idea.

This week’s word? Ambiguous

You can use any form of the word you like (ambiguous, ambiguously, ambiguity) and define it.

I know what it means but hey, I’ll play ;)

Ambiguous - a quick and easy way to say “I’m bigger than you, you arse”

  2. Sara Says:

I know what this one means. I think you need to pick words like they use on the National Spelling Bee. Now those are far out! :)

My silly guess, if I didn’t know, would be

A type of animal that can swim, walk, and fly.

  3. the Wandering Author Says:

I know, too; it is a fun idea, but for writers, you need to find really obscure words (you could always try lists of obsolete words).

For a silly definition: a person who can write with either hand. :-D

  4. JM Says:

Nice definitions, even though you all know what it means! I thought it was an appropriate one to start with, though.

  5. Deceth Says:

Ambiguous - What does it mean? When in doubt, the clues to a words definitions often lies with the words reversal!

    Suougibma.

As you may or may not know, there is a tennis players who’s last name is Sugiyama.

So, this leads me to believe that a Suougimba is a tennis ball.

I could be wrong, but I’m feeling fairly confident about this one :)

  6. JM Says:

    Ha! Nice one. :)

  7. Elisa Says:

umm…a paragraph that confesses to being too big? ;)

  8. JM Says:

Hahaha. I do think that’s one of my favorite ones. :)
