Author Michael Crichton Dies

My husband informed me of this last night and now I’ve just found it on CNN:

” LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) — Michael Crichton, the best-selling author and filmmaker and creator of the TV series “ER,” died in Los Angeles on Tuesday, his public relations firm said in a news release.

He “died unexpectedly,” the release said, “after a courageous and private battle against cancer.” ”

The strange thing is my husband just reviewed Crichton’s book Timeline on The Book Stacks. How is that for strange timing?

No matter which way you cut it, Michael Crichton was a talented author. It’s always sad to see those in the industry who have given so much leave - especially under such circumstances.
