For the Poets

The Author’s Corner Newsletter is holding a poetry contest with the theme The Heart of a Poet.
The fee is only $1 and you can find the guidelines here. If they reach 100 submissions, then the prizes increase.
Let me know if you enter and how you do. I just might enter as well.
Disclaimer: I in no way take responsibility for the validity of any submission opportunities. It’s up to you to use your judgment when submitting your work anywhere.

I used to love doing these but it got to the point where it burned me to have to pay someone to read my amazing poetry (I’m humble too did you know that?). I understand why they have to do it, and $1 is very minimal, but it still stings.

I understand completely. I love entering things, but I generally refuse when it comes to places you have to pay.

I agree, I won’t enter any writing competition that wants me to pay for the privilege of showing off my work!
I once nearly got stung by a vanity publisher saying I’d won their poetry competition, but I needed to pay £20 for it to be included in a book… uh huh.

Dave - For it to be included?! Wow. That marks a definite scam. At least other contests will print you in the book but and then give you the option of buying it.
Pay to be included… Bah!
