Little Reminders

reminders.jpgWelcome to the first Monday of the lovely month of August. As per usual, I have a few little reminders for you.

I forgot to update the editions of the Scribes Carnival on the carnival site, but that has been remedied and the dates for the next couple of editions are up. If you are unfamiliar with blog carnivals: If you have a post about writing, submit it to my blog carnival, and I will feature a link to you blog and a link to the specific post in the next edition.

The next edition will go up September 3rd and is accepting submissions until August 30th. You can go here for more details and to submit your post(s).

The Scribe newsletter is a PDF that goes out at the beginning of each month and features things like what is going on around the 451Press network, publishing opportunities, a letter from me, and more. If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter and/or contribute to it, please contact me using the contact me button under the about paragraph on the right.

I am still taking submissions for 200 words. Send me 200 words from any place in your current work in progress and I’ll post it up with a critique.

I’m also taking submissions for creative spaces. Email me a picture(s) of your creative space(s) along with a short description and I’ll post it up here.

There is a $20 amazon gift certificate in the Pet Peeves contest. We all have pet peeves - do any of yours have to do with writing? If yes, send me your writing-related pet peeve. I’ll post up the best pet peeve and the winner will win the gift certificate.

Throughout the month of August, you have the chance to win $300, $200, or $100 just by commenting on 451Press sites.
