NaNoWriMo Break
Hello everyone! It’s that time of the year again where everyone breaks out their addiction of choice and sets out to write the fifty-thousand word novel. It seems like a crazy feat to some, a strange event to others, and a completely waste of time to the group somewhere over there…but we are in it to have fun and possibly finish a book while we’re at it.
Because I like to never make things easy on myself, I am stepping out of my fantasy writer boots and once again am trying to write something I’ve never written before. (I do this every year for some reason. Maybe that’s why I have yet to reach the 50k mark on time.)
Honestly, though, I have a few characters that have been on my mind for a while, and I would like to ‘release’ them on to the page. I’m not sure exactly where it’ll go at this point, but that’s where the beauty lies, isn’t it?
My weapons (addictions) of choice this year are my comfy pyjama pants, apple juice, and good helpings of chocolate. (NaNoWriMo: The month we pad our novels like we pad our bums.) I hope this year will be the charm and I’ll bust through the word count before November is over, not three months (okay, five months) later like I have done the past couple of years.
If you are looking for motivation or inspiration during this month, check out Write Anyway, where I will be putting up daily prompts for both NaNoWriMo and NoBloPoMo.
