NaNoWriMo Check-In – Day 20

by JM

I found an absolutely hilarious NaNoWriMo calendar you should check out. Why? It’s titled: NaNoWriMo - It’s Like Being in a Cult Without the Free Robes

Not only does it have a daily minimum word count goal, it has some excellent advice on the way like: “There’s no shame in adding zombies to your story.”

(This is definitely one of those “I wish I had thought of that” moments.”

According to the calendar, if you want to stay on schedule, you should be at 33,333 words by midnight tonight. How are you doing with that? I’m still working on the whole ‘making time to write’ thing, so it’s probably well enough that I’m not officially participating anyway.

What I’m wondering this week is if you are planning on doing anything with your NaNoWriMo novel after it’s done. Do you have serious plans for it or was it a fun exercise? Are you going to leave it to gather dust or will you go straight on to editing it? Somewhere in between?

Thinking about all my NaNoWriMo novels, I’ve really just edited, sent them to friends for their enjoyment and then called it a day.

How about you? How is it going?

Finally, for some random silliness…

Random Plot Thingys:

Who: One of your characters is really a pirate who dreams of being a ninja. Or a ninja who dreams of being a pirate.
What: A CD provides an interesting clue.
When: Something important involving a banana happened yesterday, but your main character doesn’t know yet!
Where: In the garage…
Why: Because “God” directed him/her to do it.
