Saturday Night Exercise #37
by JM
We all want to be somewhere else sometimes. Someone else. Living a different life in a different place.
Write me a paragraph about where/who you’d rather be right now.

The bells woke me that chilly Sunday morning, which should not have surprised me as much as it did. The bell tower stood directly across from my window, after all. I yawned and stretched, my bed creaking at my every movement, but I didn’t care. I was home. Edinburgh lay at my feet. Quite literally, as I was on the forth floor of the Bed and Breakfast. I disentangled myself from the bedclothes, stood, and shivered. Dear Heavens, it was cold! My dressing gown had seen better days, but it did a good job of stopping my teeth from chattering. Edging past the bed, I somehow managed to get the coffee started while barely taking my eyes off of the window. I could see a bit of the street if I stood at the correct angle. Today, I would go to the castle, I decided as I carefully sipped my coffee. Yes, the castle and then tea on the Royal Mile. Over tea I could make my decision. Weigh my options. Decide…if I really had to go back. Ever.

Hmmm…
Too tired and fevered to write much. Good idea though. I’ll give it a shot another day.

Elisa - Lovely picture. I like how you put ‘bad’ things like being cold in the place you want to be. It makes it all the more real.
Catslyn - Rest up and feel better.
